When a large oak starts dropping heavy limbs over a deck, it stops being a landscaping issue and starts being a liability. That was exactly the situation here - big limbs, a deck directly below, and zero margin for error.

We rigged the job using our Hold Fast XL rigging system paired with a controlled speed line method. What that means in plain terms is that each limb came down in a fully managed, controlled descent - not a freefall, not a guess. The speed line lets us dial in exactly where a piece lands, which matters a lot when you have structures and people in the drop zone.

The rigging lines you can see running across the yard aren't just for show. That setup is what lets us work in tight spaces without putting a deck, a fence, or anything else at risk. It takes more time to rig a job like this properly, but it's the only way to do it right when there's no clear drop zone.

Mt Shasta properties tend to have mature trees that have been growing for decades - and oak trees especially can throw some serious weight around. Getting ahead of overhanging limbs before they become a storm damage problem is one of the smartest calls a homeowner can make.

Every cut on this job was planned. The ground crew was positioned and ready. Nothing left to chance.
